Question:
When Yaqub(AS) become blind did he pass away or did gain his eye site after 6 years?
Answer:
As salām ʿalaikum wa raḥmatullāhī wa barakātuhu
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The Qur’ān clearly speaks about the return of Yaʿqūb عليه السلام eyesight. Take note of the following verse:
Translation: “Go with this shirt of mine and put it over the face of my father, and he will regain sight.”
Translation: “When the bearer of glad tidings arrived, he cast it over his face, then his sight returned.”
However, we were unable to locate any authentic Aḥādīth which mention the duration of time after which the eyesight of Yaʿqūb عليه السلام was returned.
And Allāh Taʿālā knows best.
